Medieval Leaves Bare Copper Stud EarringsEach earring is approximately 12mm longThese have been made from recycled copper which has been pressed by hand, sawn out by hand and soldered. These have been oxidised slightly to bring out the detailing. This doesn’t affect the metal in any way and copper will do this naturally anyway.Bare copper means it’s been left natural. Copper will darken gently and naturally over time but it can be polished back to it’s natural golden colour.Copper jewellery, such as bracelets and rings, is widely worn for potential therapeutic benefits, primarily to alleviate pain and inflammation associated with arthritis or joint issues. It is suggested that trace amounts of copper are absorbed through the skin, aiding circulation and providing anti-inflammatory effects. While often touted for reducing stiffness and boosting immunity, scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited, suggesting effects may be partly due to a placebo response.Medieval leaf patterns (c. 500–1500) prominently featured stylized foliage in art and architecture, with acanthus, ivy, and trefoil shapes symbolizing spiritual concepts like the Passion, Trinity, or divine creation. These motifs, often heavily stylized, appeared in manuscript margins, stone carvings, and tapestries.
